The Labrang Monastery, located in the remote town of Xiahe, is a part of the Tibetan culture.
It is the largest Tibetan Buddhist Monastery outside Tibet. It is a major institution of the "Yellow hat" sect of Tibetan Buddhism (The sect to which the Dali Llama belongs). And it is a source of spiritual inspiration for the large number of pilgrims who come daily to gain merit while walking the Kora.
